Culzean Castle, Ayrshire Photowalk
If you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable way to learn more about photography and meet other like-minded shooters ,this is a wonderful event to attend. Robert Adam’s cliff-top masterpiece rises above a world of woods, beaches and secret follies – a paradise for historical and natural-world photographers.
Perched on the Ayrshire cliffs, Culzean Castle covers a 260 hectare site graced with a swan pond, ice house, formal gardens and exotic glasshouses. This National Trust for Scotland site also offers access to the rocky beach below for alternative views.
One of Culzean’s greatest assets is mixed woodland and with around 17 miles of pathways you’ll not be lost for places to take photos. The rich diversity of habitats supports a wide range of animal and plant life too.
It’s not difficult to see why the Swan Pond is a popular spot for photographers. This man-made pond is an ideal spot for photographing waterfowl. The Deer Park is home to a small herd of red deer and llamas too!
Full details of the meeting point will be included in a confirmation email when you reserve your spot.
It doesn’t matter what camera equipment you have. During the photo walk, your tutor can show you what settings to use and when to make the most of a moment.
Bring along a couple of memory cards and spare batteries too. It’s up to you if you want to bring a tripod and lens filters, simply consider the location and the weather on the day.
This Culzean Castle photo walk lasts approximately 4 hours.
During the walk, you’ll get to meet and speak to fellow photographers and find out more about what they enjoy shooting. It’s a great way of making lasting friendships and connections with other like-minded shooters, especially if you usually shoot alone.
Start Time: 11am
Entrance Fee: Included
