35mm Film Photography in Hyde Park, London

16th June 2024

If you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable way to learn a little more about photography and meet other like-minded shooters, then join our London Hyde Park photo walk.

This retro photo walk is led by Stephen Walton, iPhotography’s head tutor, who’ll help you to improve your 35mm film photography in London’s beautiful Hyde Park.

NOTE: You will need some type of fully-working film camera (35mm/120mm), Polaroid, basic point-and-shoot or retro-styling phone app for this walk.

What's the Route?

This London Hyde Park photo walk will take you through some of the iconic sites of this famous landmark.

Starting off at the Queen Elizabeth Gate on Hyde Park corner as our meeting point you’ll also visit the following landmarks across this urban landscape;

  • The Serpentine
  • Kensington Palace
  • The Old Police House
  • The Rose Garden
  • Hyde Park Bandstand

Full details of the route will be included in a confirmation email when you reserve your spot.

What Do I Need to Bring Along?

You will need some type of fully-working film camera (35mm/120mm), Polaroid, basic point-and-shoot or even a retro-styling phone app for this walk. Bring extra rolls of film batteries if your camera requires.

We’ll work together to capture the best exposures and learn how to read the light without the luxury of a digital camera screen and automatic modes.

It’s a good idea to pack light with room for snacks and water.

Bring along a couple of memory cards and a spare battery too. It’s up to you if you want to take your tripod and lens filters, simply consider the location and the weather on the day.

How Long Does a Photo Walk Last?

Our film photography walk will last approximately 5 hours following a pre-designated route specifically designed to pass amazing photo opportunities.

Along the walk, you can chat to fellow photographers and find out a little more about what they enjoy shooting. It’s a great way of making photo friends if you normally shoot alone.

This Hyde Park photo walk involves no steep inclines or challenging terrain.
