Nature & Wildlife Photography in the Cotswolds
If you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable way to learn more about photography and meet other like-minded shooters, this is a wonderful event to attend. This Gloucestershire garden photo walk is led by a professional photographer with years of experience to help you to improve your photos and understand your camera better.
Also included is an exciting visit to the nearby Cotswold Falconry Centre to allow you to capture incredible images of Kites, Falcons, Eagles, Hawks, Owls and more.
This Batsford Arboretum photo walk will take you through some of the beautiful sights in this historic location. The collections at Batsford cover a wide range of plants from around the world with an emphasis on the Far East.
There are other amazing collections of Acers, Bamboo, Magnolias, Pinus and Sorbus trees too. There are adequate parking, cafe and toilet facilities on-site in the garden centre.
Over at the Cotswold Falconry Centre, you can admire and photograph beautiful birds of prey in a public flight display.
Full details of the meeting point will be included in a confirmation email when you reserve your spot.
It doesn’t matter what camera equipment you have. During the photo walk, your tutor can show you what settings to use and when to make the most of a moment.
For photographing at the Cotswold Falconry Centre a longer telephoto lens would be useful, if you have one, but not compulsory.
Bring along a couple of memory cards and a spare battery too. It’s up to you if you want to take your tripod and lens filters, simply consider the location and the weather on the day.
This Batsford Arboretum and Cotswold Falconry Centre photo walk lasts approximately 6 hours.
During the walk, you’ll get to meet and speak to fellow photographers and find out more about what they enjoy shooting.
After spending the morning at the Arboretum photographing the beautiful flowers and foliage, we’ll break for lunch at the cafe (not included in the ticket price) and then we’ll head over to the Falconry Centre for a public flight display and a chance to walk around the other enclosures.
It’s a great way of making lasting friendships and connections with other like-minded shooters, especially if you usually shoot alone.
Min Group Size: 4 (walks may be cancelled if the minimum group size is not met).
Time: 10am – 4pm
Accessibility: Mostly flat and paved surfaces but with some narrow slopes and steps.
Also included in this event is a private online editing session with your group and tutor. The date for this 1-hour class will be arranged after the event and be hosted via Zoom. You can show off your shots, get editing tips and get feedback from others.
