Landscapes of Malham Cove, Yorkshire
If you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable way to learn more about landscape photography and meet other like-minded shooters this is a wonderful event to attend. This Yorkshire photo walk is led by Stephen Walton, iPhotography’s head tutor, with years of experience to help you to improve your photos.
Malham Cove is a huge curving amphitheatre-shaped cliff formation of limestone rock. The vertical face of the cliff is about 260 feet high. The top of the cove is a large area of deeply eroded limestone pavement, of a strange pattern rarely seen in England.
The majesty of Malham Cove looks out over the Village of Malham and has been attracting visitors for centuries. Malham Cove also affords brilliant views down the dale towards Malham and beyond.
The photowalk will also take in the sights of Gordale Scar and Janet’s Foss waterfall along the route.
Full details of the meeting point will be included in a confirmation email when you reserve your spot.
It doesn’t matter what camera equipment you have. During the photo walk, your tutor can show you what settings to use and when to make the most of a moment.
Bring along a couple of memory cards and spare batteries too. It’s up to you if you want to take your tripod and lens filters, though you might find this useful for long exposure shots on waterfalls and landscape shots.
Consider the location and the weather on the day in terms of what to wear and bring. Given the location, there are no bathroom facilities or cafes along the route.
This Malham Cove photo walk lasts approximately 6 hours.
During the walk, you’ll get to meet and speak to fellow photographers and find out more about what they enjoy shooting.
It’s a great way of making lasting friendships and connections with other like-minded shooters, especially if you usually shoot alone.
Min Group Size: 4 (walks may be cancelled if the minimum group size is not met).
Time: 11am – 5pm
Accessibility: Countryside footpaths, paved paths, sloped fields, steep and uneven terrain in parts. Please consider mobility issues carefully before booking.
Also included in this event is a private online editing session with your group and tutor. The date for this 1-hour class will be arranged after the event and be hosted via Zoom. You can show off your shots, get editing tips and get feedback from others.
